Move off FileMaker, into one system ready for AI

Your FileMaker solution has grown scripts, calculation fields and layouts that only one person understands. We write down how your company really runs on it, in an Operating Manual (your SOPs, roles and rules in one place), show which fixes and AI uses pay off, and rebuild it as one connected web app you own, ready for automation and AI.

From one FileMaker solution to a business ready for AI

  1. 01

We map how your company really runs

We read every script, calculation field, layout and report, and follow the work around the solution, into the spreadsheets and inboxes next to it. The Operating Manual writes it all down in plain words.

  2. 02

We show where the money is

The Opportunity Map ranks every task worth fixing, automating or handing to AI, such as steps done twice or reports built by hand, by what it saves a year and what it costs to build.

  3. 03

We rebuild it as one connected system

The solution and the tools around it become one web app you own, with logins, dashboards that flag problems early and a record of every change.

  4. 04

It becomes the base for AI

With your work and data in one well-described place, automations and AI agents plug in safely, one at a time, each measured against what it saves.

Why your FileMaker version matters

FileMaker solutions differ a lot between versions and between builders. On day 1 of the Business X-Ray we check what your version lets us export, and if the scope changes you get a new fixed price to accept or decline.

Claris publishes support dates for each FileMaker version. Check the version on your server and on each desktop before you plan anything.

What happens to each part of your solution

In the old system
What it becomes
Tables and relationships
One well-described database, with your data cleaned, moved and every count and total checked.
Calculation fields
Written down with worked examples, then built into the new system.
Scripts and script triggers
Read step by step. Each action is written down for you to confirm, then automated where it pays.
Layouts and their checks
Web screens with the same checks and value lists.
Reports
Live dashboards, and the same reports without the rebuild by hand.

FileMaker alternatives, side by side

  1. 01

    Stay on FileMaker and upgrade

Good when The solution works, your builder is still around, and licences suit you.

Watch for How the solution works still lives in one person's head. Write it down anyway.

  2. 02

Move to a low-code database tool

Good when The solution is small and mostly lists and forms.

Watch for Scripts and calculations do not carry over, so every step has to be found and rebuilt by hand.

  3. 03

    Rebuild it with us

Good when The way you work matters and you want to own the code. You get the Operating Manual and the Opportunity Map first, then one connected web app you own.

Watch for Your version decides what we can export. We check it on day 1 of the X-Ray, before the work goes further.

If an off-the-shelf product fits you better, the X-Ray says so. You keep the Operating Manual either way.

Questions

Can you work from a copy of our solution?

Yes. Nothing is read for the free AI Readiness Check. For the X-Ray a copy with the records removed is enough. For the rebuild we move your data, and until the day you switch we can work on a copy with names removed.

Our FileMaker developer still helps us. Can they stay involved?

Yes. They can answer questions, check the Operating Manual, or build parts of the new system themselves from it.

What will the new system be built in?

Common, well-supported tools any good developer can maintain. You can name a preference. All the code is yours.

How long does it take?

The X-Ray takes 10 business days. A rebuild is usually 4 to 16 weeks depending on size, and the X-Ray ends with a fixed price and plan.
